I was travelling alone the day of the tour and it was my first time in Rome. But I felt comfortable and safe knowing I was part of a group. The tour bus picked me up at my hotel and returned me just a block from it. There were extremely long lines which we were able to skip. We arrived early enough to get seats close to the front of the Cathedral and had wonderful views of the Pope. The Papal audience visit was very moving and definitely worth the effort.

Praise God to see Peter in the flesh! Praise God for Pope B's gentleness and humility. I am grateful for all Viator's efforts to make this possible. The only minor hitch was breakfast, away from the lodgings and not all that good, but then I chose cheap lodgings.

I had spoken to other visitors who were so close they could nearly shake hands with the Pope. On this tour, we sat quite far back, so we didn't get very clear photos even with a standard zoom lens. However, you are able to bring items, e.g,. rosary's, to be blessed by the Pope. We were not aware of this prior to our visit, so we were left empty-handed.

Seeing the Pope was an amazing experience. I think if i would have know I would have just got the tickets on my own, which are free by the way and made my way over to the Vatican myself. Yes we were picked up from our hotel but it's so easy to navigate through Rome. I could have easily made it to Vatican City without being picked up. The bus also drops you off down the street from Vatican Cty so you still have to walk over to the entrance. Once we got there the line was soo big and there's so many people that our whole group got seperated anyway. Once you go through security it's every man for themselves and basically you have to go find an empty seat yourself. I never saw the rest of our group nor our tour guide after that point. I feel like these tickets were way too expensive just for a bus ride to Vatican City.

Apart from a late pick up - it was a reasonable trip with good seats at the Vatican. The experience justified the use of this tour.
