Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We had to hurry in the beginning so as not to miss the sunrise from the top of this volcano. Seeing such a spectacle from this vantage point was breathtakiing. Even though the distance traversed is not very far, it definitely is a moderate hike as the incline is quite steep and you must be very careful going down as it can get slippery and crowded with other hikers. Our guide, however, was adamant that group members set their own pace so as not to cause anyone undue risk. Every so often we would stop at a lookout point where he would give us some history about this volcano and Hawaii's development over history. The only thing we were not told was that our hotel pickup time would be between 20-25 minutes in variance. We worried that we had been forgotten. It was the tour provider at our hotel who told us not to be concerned. The cost was very reasonable and we got a certificate.

Had an awesome time! the Tour guide was well informed and shared knowledge of the local area as well as the Diamond Head Crater. They were prompt to pick up. We would definitely recommend the 6am start as it gets really sunny around 9am and the climb will be more difficult. Plus, the views of the sunrise are simply amazing!

It was worth getting up early for this fantastic view and experience! I would recommend anyone going to Oahu should make sure they book this tour! One note, the website we linked said fitness level easy, it was not! I would say at least moderate to strenuous, still worth every minute!
